胨提供碳源、氮源和维生素满足细菌生长的需求;碳酸钙能中和细菌产酸及吸收有毒的代谢产物;硫代硫酸钠和四硫磺酸钠结合可抑制肠道共生菌,而具有四硫磺酸钠还原酶的细菌能在此培养基中繁殖;牛胆盐、新生霉素可抑制大肠群菌和其它革兰氏阳性杆菌。
Peptone provides carbon source, nitrogen source and vitamin to meet the needs of bacterial growth; Calcium carbonate can neutralize acid production by bacteria and absorb toxic metabolites. The combination of sodium thiosulfate and sodium tetrathionate can inhibit intestinal symbiotic bacteria, and bacteria with sodium tetrathionate reductase can multiply in this medium. Bile salt and neomycin can inhibit Escherichia coli and other gram-positive bacilli.

使用方法
Usage
称取本品89.5g,加热溶解于1000ml蒸馏水中,迅速冷却,此溶液在2-8℃可保存4周,临用前加入20ml碘液(5g碘化钾溶解于2ml蒸馏水,然后加入4g碘,加蒸馏水至20ml),混匀,分装试管,每管10ml,当天制备当天使用,无需高压灭菌。
注:培养基中含大量不溶性碳酸钙,分装时需搅拌均匀。
